North Carolina Motorcycle Accidents
A North Carolina motorcycle accident presents many problems for victims. First, the crash itself is dangerous and can be deadly under the worst-case scenario. Victims who survive the crash can be left with serious injuries that may take a long time to heal. The injuries frequently require extended medical such as hospitalizations and surgeries. These effects, in turn, can lead to a financial impact that results in you missing work and being unable to support yourself and your family.
A motorcycle accident can be made even worse when the crash is a hit-and-run accident. In North Carolina, it is illegal for motorists to leave the scene of a crash. If the crash caused injuries, this is a felony that is punishable by jail time, probation, and high fines. In addition, motorists who flee the scene of a crash can be held civilly liable for the injuries that they have caused. This is especially true because many hit-and-run accidents are caused due to some type of negligent driving behavior.
