Durham, NC (June 3, 2022) – The North Carolina State Highway Patrol is investigating after a deadly crash in Durham on Friday morning, June 3rd. The accident took place around 4:00 a.m. on North Carolina Highway 98 near Dunlee Falls Road.
According to a report from the scene, two cars were involved in the collision. When officials arrived, they found one person suffering from critical injuries as a result of the accident. The victim was later pronounced dead. Their identity has not been released at this time. There is no information on what caused the accident to take place and it is not clear if anyone else was hurt. There is no word on whether any charges are expected to be filed.
Drivers were told to avoid the area and to find alternate routes of travel while police investigated the accident. An investigation remains ongoing.
