Car Accidents in North Carolina
Operating a motor vehicle in North Carolina can be a dangerous activity. According to the North Carolina Department of Transportation, there were approximately 300,000 reported car accidents in our state in 2019. While not every car accident results in injuries, many of them do. In fact, about a third of all car accidents in North Carolina will lead to at least one person being injured. Many car accident injuries are serious in nature and can require long-term medical care and a long road to recovery as you struggle to get back to the life that you enjoyed prior to the crash.
Following a North Carolina car accident, you should take steps to protect your legal rights. This is especially true if you were not at fault for the accident. Under our state’s law, you could have valuable legal rights if you were injured by a negligent driver. North Carolina law provides that victims of injury accidents can receive compensation for their pain and suffering, medical bills, lost wages, and more when they have been injured in a crash.
