Durham, NC (September 2, 2020) – Three people were hurt in a head-on crash that took place in Durham on Wednesday, September 2nd. The crash was reported around 6:22 a.m. along T.W. Alexander Drive near Miami Boulevard and Weck Drive.
According to reports, 48-year-old Miriam Parker was driving westbound in the eastbound lanes of T.W. Alexander Drive when her vehicle collided head-on with a 2006 Cadillac Escalade operated by 62-year-old Manley Mitchell. The Durham Police Department was dispatched to the scene just after the crash took place. Police believe that Parker was trying to make a left turn when she turned onto the wrong side of the roadway.
Parker was taken to the hospital with serious injuries along with an 18-month-old passenger in her vehicle. Both Parker and her passenger were seriously hurt. Mitchell was also transported for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. There is no further update on the victims’ conditions at this time.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing. No additional information is available.
