Durham, NC (March 7, 2021) – Two people were hurt in a crash that took place on Saturday afternoon in Durham. The incident was first reported around 5:30 a.m. on Cole Mill Road near Berini Drive and Quail Ridge Road.
The Durham Police Department responded to the scene. According to officers, a vehicle was traveling on Cole Ridge when it was involved in a single-car crash. The events leading up to the accident as well as the cause of the crash are not known at this time. Officials say that two adults inside the car were taken to a hospital for treatment of significant injuries. One of the adults is believed to have suffered life-threatening injuries. A 19-month-old child in the vehicle was evaluated by paramedics but was not seriously hurt. The identities of those involved are not available at this time.
The collision caused the road to be closed until around 8:00 p.m. as an investigation was ongoing. Motorists were advised to use caution and to avoid travel in the area if possible.
