Fatal Pedestrian Accidents in North Carolina
In 2018, there were a total of 2,509 pedestrian accidents in North Carolina. Of this number, 2,219 individuals sustained injuries, while 225 people were killed. These statistics indicate the risk and danger to pedestrians when they are involved in crashes in our state. Certainly, pedestrians who are struck by vehicles face a very high risk of being hurt. This is especially true compared to those who are hurt in car accidents or other types of crashes involving traditional vehicles. These vehicles offer much greater protection against the force and impact of crashes.
Following a North Carolina pedestrian accident, you may have important legal rights. If the crash was not your fault, you should speak with an attorney as soon as possible. Under North Carolina law, pedestrians and their families could obtain compensation for their losses, including payment of medical expenses, reimbursement for lost wages, and money for pain and suffering. With your future at stake, it is imperative to seek the assistance of an aggressive attorney who can ensure that you receive the recovery that you need.
