Fayetteville, NC (September 23, 2020) – One person was killed and another suffered injuries in a two-car crash that took place in Fayetteville on Tuesday, September 22nd. The crash happened around 6:30 p.m. in the 600 block of Country Club Drive.
The Fayetteville Police Department responded to the accident scene. According to reports, two vehicles collided with one another. After the crash, one of the vehicles struck a pole before coming to rest. A female driver was ejected from her vehicle after the collision. The woman, who has not been identified at this time, was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center where she succumbed to her injuries. The other driver involved in the accident was also taken to Cape Fear to be treated for serious injuries.
Officers were at the scene for several hours investigating the accident. There is no word at this time on what caused the collision to take place. The eastbound lanes of Country Club were closed from Rosehill Road to Harveydale Drive and motorists were advised to avoid the area if possible.
Anyone with information on the collision is asked to call Officer Biggerstaff at (910) 751-1382. No further information is available at this time and an investigation remains ongoing.
