Garner, NC (November 25, 2021) – Officials in Garner responded to the scene of a multi-car crash on Thanksgiving Day. The collision occurred in the eastbound lanes of I-40 near the interchange for U.S. Highway 70.
According to a report, a drunk driver was traveling on I-40 when their vehicle ran off the road. The initial incident resulted in a chain-reaction crash involving five vehicles. Paramedics arrived at the scene and treated at least one person for undisclosed injuries as a result of the collision. The road was closed for over an hour as police and investigators worked at the crash scene. Drivers were asked to find alternate routes of travel and to avoid the area if possible.
At this time, officials have not identified anyone involved in the crash and there is no word on pending charges.
