North Carolina Car Accidents
In 2019, there were approximately 300,000 reported car accidents in North Carolina. Although numerous crashes occur each day across a variety of areas, many accidents take place on major highways. With higher speed limits, greater congestion, and a generally higher concentration of negligent drivers, traveling on the highway can be a very dangerous experience. Many highway drivers will disregard traffic laws and will place themselves and others in great danger. Speeding, reckless driving, impairment, and distracted driving all take place on the streets and highways of our state every day. These types of negligent behaviors greatly contribute to the dangers of driving.
Being involved in a North Carolina car accident can certainly be a life-altering event for both the victim and their family. While these crashes are likely to have a negative impact, they do not have to result in a completely bleak future. Under North Carolina law, if you or a loved one have been injured at the hands of a negligent motorist, you could have valuable legal rights. This includes the right to receive compensation for your injuries. Both the other driver, as well as their insurance company, could be legally responsible for your damages.
