Gastonia, NC (July 31, 2020) – A motorcyclist sustained injuries following a crash that took place in Gastonia on Friday, July 31st, on Union Road, near the intersection with Hudson Boulevard.
The Gastonia Police Department responded to the scene just after 10:00 a.m. following a report of an accident in the area. When police arrived, they discovered a motorcyclist suffering from life-threatening injuries. According to initial reports, the motorcycle was hit by a car. There is no information on the cause of the crash at this time.
Paramedics arrived at the scene and treated the injured victim before he was transported to CaroMont Regional Medical Center. The motorcyclist was later airlifted to a hospital in Charlotte for further treatment. There is no additional information on his condition at this time. Neither the motorcyclist nor the driver of the car has been identified at this time.
There were no further details available. An investigation into the crash is ongoing and it is not clear if any charges are expected.
