Gatesville, NC (February 9, 2022) – Police in Gatesville responded to the scene of a fatal accident on Wednesday, February 9th. The collision happened around 5:45 a.m. along US Highway 13 near North Carolina Highway 37.
According to a report from the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, a tractor-trailer and a passenger vehicle were involved in the collision. One victim died at the scene as a result of their injuries while another was seriously injured and was taken to a local hospital for treatment. There is no further update on the condition of the injured victim at this time. The identities of those involved have not been released and it is not clear how the accident occurred. The road was shut down while authorities investigated the collision and attempted to determine the cause. Motorists were urged to avoid the area or to find alternate routes of travel
