Godwin, NC (May 21, 2020) – One person is dead following a tractor-trailer crash on Highway 13 near the Cumberland/Sampson County line. The crash took place on Wednesday, May 21st.
Officials from the Godwin-Falcon Fire Rescue arrived at the scene shortly after the crash took place. According to reports, an SUV and a tanker trunk were involved in the collision. The SUV traveled down an embankment after the accident. Both front wheels were ripped off of the 18 wheeler. Officials pronounced the SUV driver dead at the scene. One other person was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.
There is no information on the cause of the crash at this time. No further details are available.
