Greensboro, NC (December 31, 2020) – One person was killed in a two-car crash that took place in Greensboro on Thursday, December 31st. The crash was reported just before Noon on U.S. Highway 29 near Interstate 40/85.
The Greensboro Police Department responded to the accident scene. According to a report from the investigating officer, Zebulon Hunt, of Asheboro, was driving a Dodge Ram northbound on U.S. 29 when, for unknown reasons, his car left the roadway and collided with several trees before coming to rest. A passenger in Hunt’s vehicle was killed in the crash. The victim’s identity has not been released at this time. It is not clear whether Hunt suffered any injuries as a result of the accident.
Following an investigation, Hunt was arrested and charged with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle. He was placed in jail under a $5,000. bond. The investigation is ongoing at this time and no further information is available.
