Richard Murrell, a Greensboro firefighter, died at the scene. Tonya Murrell was rushed to Moses Cone Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Fatal Accidents in North Carolina
Fatal collisions in North Carolina claim the lives of about 1,500 individuals every year. In the most recent years, we have seen an increase in fatal accidents on our state’s roadways. The cause of the increase is not clear, however, it appears as though motorists are at greater risk than at any point in recent history. While each car accident must be closely investigated by authorities, they are frequently caused by the actions of negligent motorists.
North Carolina law allows family members the right to bring a claim against drivers whose actions resulted in the death of their loved ones. Generally, these claims must be filed within two years of the fatal accident. The law in this area is complicated and only an experienced attorney can properly advise you of the steps that should be taken during this time.
