Greensboro, NC – UPDATE: Rickie Core Identified in Fatal Crash

Greensboro, NC – The victim of a fatal Greensboro car accident has now been identified by authorities. The crash took place on Tuesday, June 3rd just before 9:00 p.m.

Officers with the Greensboro Police Department responded to the scene of West Friendly Avenue at Josephine Boyd Street. According to reports, 31-year-old Swareze Isaiah Williams was driving a 2014 Hyundai Elantra westbound on West Friendly when the car traveled off a bridge and laned on Josephine Boyd Street below. The vehicle rolled over and came to rest on its roof.

26-year-old Rickie Jerome Core died in the crash. He was a passenger in the Hyundai. The other passengers all suffered serious injuries and were also taken to the hospital for treatment.

Williams is facing several charges including serious injury by vehicle, careless and reckless driving and driving left of center. He was arrested and placed into custody under a $100,000 bond.
