Guilford County, NC (January 7, 2021) – Four people sustained injuries in a car accident that took place in Guilford County on Wednesday evening. The crash happened around 5:40 p.m. on I-40/85 near the exit for Mount Hope Church Road.
The North Carolina State Highway Patrol responded to the scene of the accident shortly after it occurred. According to a report from troopers, a car was merging onto the interstate when it collided with a tractor-trailer that was stationary on the side of the road. Following the first collision, the car spun into traffic and struck another vehicle in the travel lanes of the highway.
Rescue crews responded to the scene. One person sustained serious injuries in the crash and three others were also hurt. There is no word on the identities of the victims at this time. Troopers are still investigating the incident. No charges have been issued.
