Guilford County, NC (February 3, 2021) – One person was hurt in a crash involving an ambulance and a pickup truck in Guilford County. The crash happened on Interstate 85 around 12:45 p.m. near Rock Creek Dairy Road
According to officials, the EMS driver was traveling southbound when the vehicle veered off the road to avoid a crash with another vehicle. As the EMS truck swerved around the vehicle it collided with a pickup truck. The driver of the pickup truck was hurt and was taken to Moses Cone Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. No one in the EMS truck was injured in the crash.
Following an investigation, police charged the EMS driver with failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash. The identities of those involved in the crash are not available at this time.
