High Point, NC (February 18, 2021) – The High Point Police Department was at the scene of a crash involving three vehicles on Monday, February 15th. The crash was reported at 6:08 p.m. on Eastchester Drive at the intersection with Kirkwood Street.
Officer J.B. McMillan responded to the scene shortly after the crash occurred. According to a report from Officer McMillan, Jernesa Young, of High Point, was driving a 2001 Honda when she tried to make a right turn into heavy traffic. Young failed to yield to an oncoming vehicle driven by Destiny Bolduc-Smith, also of High Point. The two cars collided in the intersection, causing a crash with a third vehicle operated by Debbie Lois Maier, of High Point.
Bolduc-Smith’s passenger, Easton Smith, sustained injuries as a result of the accident. Rescue crews with the Guilford County EMS responded to the scene. Easton Smith was transported to Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro for treatment. There is no word on his condition at this time. Officer McMillan deemed young at fault for the accident due to failure to yield the right-of-way to oncoming traffic.
