North Carolina Injury Accidents
Car accidents take place each day in North Carolina and each day there are multiple people injured in crashes throughout our state. The number of reported North Carolina car accidents continues to increase each year. According to the North Carolina Department of Transportation, there were approximately 280,000 reported traffic accidents on our roadways in 2018. For comparison, just five years earlier, there were about 220,000 reports of traffic crashes in 2013. This number appears to be on an increasing trend as the population of North Carolina continues to grow and the roadways become more crowded.
If you have been hurt in a car accident in North Carolina, you are likely feeling confused and overwhelmed regarding your future. You may be suffering from physical and emotional pain, as well as financial hardship and a feeling of despair as the life you enjoyed prior to the accident is gone. While these feelings are all normal following an accident, it is important to understand your legal rights and the potential to recover compensation for your injuries.
If you were not at fault for the accident, you could have the right to receive a settlement for your pain, your lost wages, and the medical bills that you incurred as a result of the accident. Your settlement value should represent the true cost of your claim and should take into account the difficulties that you faced as a result of the crash and any expected future medical costs.
