Hillsborough, NC (November 2, 2020) – Two people were killed in a car accident that took place on Sunday in Hillsborough. The crash was reported around 5:00 a.m. on US Highway 70 near West Hill Avenue.
According to a report, an SUV was traveling along Highway 70 when the driver lost control of the vehicle. The SUV went down an embankment before striking a large oak tree and coming to rest. The SUV driver was seriously hurt in the crash and was taken to a local hospital for treatment of their injuries. Two passengers in the vehicle were killed as a result of the crash. The identities of the passengers have not been released at this time. No other vehicles were involved in the crash. There is no word on whether the SUV driver faces any charges.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing. No additional information is available at this time.
