Johnston County, NC (September 15, 2021) – One person was killed and seven others were hurt following a crash in Johnston County. The accident took place just before 7:45 p.m. on County Store Road at the intersection with Doc Avenue.
The Pine Level Police Department responded to the scene. According to a report by officials, 39-year-old Ramon Gonzales-Rivera was driving a 2012 Ford on County Story Road when his vehicle collided with a 2002 Porsche. A passenger in the Porsche, Bryan Mendoza Lara, died at the accident scene. A total of seven other victims sustained unknown injuries due to the crash. The victims were transported to a local hospital where there is no word on their condition at this time.
The NC State Highway Patrol, along with the Pine Level Police Department are both investigating the crash. There is no further word on what caused the accident. Motorists were advised to avoid the area while police were at the scene. There is no word on whether any charges are expected.
