Lillington, NC (October 8, 2020) – Two people were killed in a car accident that took place in Lillington on Wednesday, October 7th. The crash happened around 9:15 p.m. on North Carolina Highway 27 near Leaflet Church Road.
The North Carolina State Highway Patrol responded to the accident scene shortly after the collision occurred. According to a report from troopers, a car was traveling westbound on N.C. 27 when, for unknown reasons, it veered over the double yellow line and collided head-on with a vehicle that was traveling eastbound. Troopers identified the vehicles involved as a sedan and a pickup truck.
The two victims were pronounced dead at the crash scene. There is no word on their identities at this time or which vehicle they were occupying at the time of the crash. Motorists in the area were advised to use caution when traveling near the accident scene.
The collision remains under investigation at this time. There are no further details available.
