Lumberton, NC (May 21, 2020) – Two men were killed in a crash on Morgan J Road near Lumberton. The crash happened on Wednesday, May 20th around 2:30 p.m.
The State Highway Patrol responded to the scene near Shannon Road just after the crash took place. Troopers say that a Cadillac was traveling southbound on Morgan J. Road when, for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed left of center and collided head-on with a Ford pickup truck. Both drivers died at the crash scene. The victims have not been identified at this time.
Officials believe that speed and alcohol may have contributed to the crash according to 1st. Sgt. James McVicker of the SHP. An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
