Mooresville, NC (October 28, 2020) – The Mooresville Police Department, along with EMS and fire crews responded to the scene of a crash involving a tractor-trailer on Wednesday. The collision took place along Interstate 77 in the northbound lanes near mile marker 32.
Police have reported that a tractor-trailer was traveling on the highway when the truck jackknifed, causing it to spill about 400 gallons of diesel fuel onto the highway. In addition to the truck, there was at least one other vehicle involved in the crash. At this time, there is no word on how the accident took place.
EMS crews responded to the scene to treat injured victims from the crash. There is no information on the scope of the injuries suffered in the accident. The Hazmat crew of the Mooresville Fire Department was called to the scene as a result of the fuel spill. In addition, the Mt. Mourne Fire Department also responded.
Police are still conducting an investigation into the crash at this time. There is no additional information available.
