Morrisville, NC (May 30, 2022) – Police in Morrisville are investigating a fatal car accident on Sunday night, May 29th. The accident took place on North Carolina Highway 54 at approximately 3:00 a.m.
According to a report from the scene, 29-year-old Robert Jackson, of Chapel Hill, was driving northbound on Highway 54 when he lost control of his vehicle. Jackson’s car left the road and struck several trees before flipping over and coming to rest. Jackson died at the accident scene after being thrown from the vehicle. His passenger, 32-year-old Marcos O’Briant, of Durham, was rushed to a local hospital for treatment of serious injuries. There were no other passengers in the vehicle at the time of the accident.
The crash remains under investigation at this time. Police believe that speed and alcohol played a role in the accident. There is no further information available.
