New Bern, NC (September 28, 2021) – A 47-year-old New Bern woman died in a car accident that took place on Monday, September 27th. The crash happened just after 3:30 p.m. in the 3300 block of Trent Road.
Officials with the New Bern Police Department were called to the accident scene. According to a report, a Chevrolet Trailblazer was traveling on Trent Road when the driver lost control of the vehicle. The car left the roadway and crashed before coming to rest. Rescue crews responded to the area and found the driver and passenger suffering from serious injuries.
The passenger, identified as 47-year-old Lisa McDaniel, was taken to a local hospital for treatment. She later succumbed to her injuries. The unidentified driver was also taken to a hospital but there is no word on his condition at this time. Officers have not said what caused the crash to occur.
An investigation remains ongoing at this time. Anyone with information should contact the New Bern Police Department.
