Newton, NC (June 20, 2021) – Four people were taken to the hospital following a crash involving a driver’s ed vehicle in Newton on Wednesday afternoon. The crash took place on West 7th Street.
According to Newton Police Chief Vidal Sipe, there were as many as six cars involved in the crash. Four of the victims were transported to area hospitals after the crash. At least two of the victims were in critical condition. One of the critically injured victims was in the driver’s ed vehicle at the time of the accident. There is no word on the events leading up to the crash and none of the victims have been identified at this time. Police have not said whether any charges are expected to be filed.
There is no further information available at this time. An investigation into the accident is ongoing at this time.
