Perquimans County, NC (June 11, 2021) – Authorities in Perquimans County responded to the scene of a multi-vehicle crash on Saturday night, June 5th. The accident happened around 9:30 p.m. on Ocean Highway on the south side of a high-rise bridge.
According to reports from police, the accident involved at least two vehicles. When officials arrived, they found both vehicles with extensive property damage. There was a total of three people in both vehicles. All three individuals were hurt in the crash and were transported to local hospitals. One of the victims was taken to Norfolk General Hospital by helicopter and the other two were taken to local hospitals by EMS units. There is no word on the cause of the crash or the conditions of the victims at this time. The identities of those involved have also not been released.
All southbound lanes of the bridge were closed while officers investigated at the scene. Motorists were advised to use caution at the scene and to find alternate routes of travel if possible.
No further information has been released at this time. and it is not known if any charges will be filed.
