North Carolina Car Accidents
The North Carolina Department of Transportation maintains statistics on the number of crashes and injury accidents that take place in our state on a yearly basis. According to these statistics, there are more than 100,000 reported accidents in North Carolina and more than 50,000 injuries. The injuries that are suffered in these collisions include broken bones, soft tissue injuries, head and neck trauma, and even death in the worst-case scenario. A car accident can affect innocent motorists and their family members and can result in all aspects of a victim’s life being changed in an instant.
Following an injury accident, victims may receive a call from the other driver’s insurance company. This commonly occurs when the adjuster wants to obtain the victim’s recorded statement of the accident and how it occurred. Many individuals make the mistake of speaking with the insurance company before they seek legal advice. The crash victim may then attempt to engage in settlement discussions with the adjuster. It is important to remember that the adjuster does not work for you and is trying to save the company money by offering you a quick settlement that is normally worth less than the true value of the case.
