Pilot Mountain, NC (January 27, 2022) – Authorities in Pilot Mountain responded to the scene of a deadly crash on Thursday, January 27th. The accident took place around 4:00 p.m. on US Highway 52 near Pilot Mountain State Park.
According to a report from police, a truck was towing a vehicle on a flatbed trailer when the car came loose from the trailer. The towed car collided with another car, setting off a chain reaction crash involving a third vehicle. One person lost their lives in the crash. The identity of the deceased victim has not been released at this time. Two other victims were injured but there is no update on their conditions at this time.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
