Raleigh, NC (August 3, 2020) – Five people were taken to the hospital following a two-car crash in Raleigh on Saturday, August 1st. The crash happened at the intersection of Jones Franklin Road and Wood Aisle Road.
According to reports from the Raleigh Police Department, a car was stopped at the intersection, waiting to turn onto Wood Aisle Road when the car was struck from behind by a second vehicle and pushed into traffic. The car was then struck a second time while in the line of oncoming vehicles. Among the five injured victims, four were taken to Duke Hospital with minor injuries while a 5-year-old boy was transported with serious injuries. There is no word on whether the injuries are believed to be life-threatening.
The driver who caused the crash was issued several charges by Raleigh police, including no operator’s license, improper lane change, and failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash. No one involved in the collision has been identified at this time. There is no further information available.
