Raleigh, NC (June 25, 2021) – Officials in Raleigh were at the scene of a crash involving a car and a tractor-trailer on Wednesday night. The accident happened on Atlantic Avenue at the intersection with Harrod Street.
According to police, the driver of the car suffered serious injuries. Fire crews had to cut the roof off of the car in order to extricate the driver who was then transported to a local hospital for treatment. The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured. There is no word at this time on the cause of the collision. The accident caused the road to be blocked for several hours while an investigation was underway. Those involved in the crash have not been identified. Motorists were asked to avoid the scene if possible.
It is not clear whether any charges are expected to be filed. An investigation is ongoing.
