Raleigh, NC (April 11, 2022) – One person was killed in a crash between a car and a bus in Raleigh on Sunday, April 10th. The accident took place on Garner Road near the Christ Our King Community Church.
According to a report from police, the deceased victim was driving a blue Acura sedan on Garner Road with a young boy as his passenger. As the driver traveled northbound approaching the intersection with Peterson Street, he was struck by a GoRaleigh bus that was making a left turn onto Garner Road. The man was ejected from his vehicle. He suffered critical injuries and was later pronounced dead. The boy was also hurt in the accident. One bus rider sustained minor injuries. The identities of those involved were not immediately available.
Following the crash, police cited the driver of the bus for failure to yield causing serious bodily injury. There is no word on whether any additional charges are expected to be filed.
