Raleigh, NC (April 7, 2022) – Two people were killed in a serious crash that took place near Raleigh on Wednesday night, April 6th. The accident happened around 10:30 p.m. on Olde South Road near the intersection with Countryview Lane.
According to a report from the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, a Ford van was traveling southbound on Olde South. At the same time, a Honda van was traveling northbound. The two vehicles collided with each other at the intersection. Two passengers in the Honda van were killed in the accident. They were later identified as 22-year-old Andre Gibson and 24-year-old Faustino Sosa.
A 26-year-old passenger in the Honda was taken to a hospital for critical injuries and was admitted to the ICU. The driver of the Ford, a 54-year-old Raleigh man, was not hurt in the accident. Following the crash, police determined that the Raleigh man was impaired at the time of the collision. He was arrested and charged with DWI. More charges are possible pending the outcome of an investigation.
Police are still investigating the accident at this time. There is no additional information available.
