Raleigh, NC (February 28, 2021) – A woman was taken to the hospital following an incident in which she was dragged by a vehicle in Raleigh on Saturday, February 27th. The incident took place near WakeMed Hospital.
The Raleigh Police Department, along with emergency rescue crews responded to the scene. According to a report from officials, the unidentified woman was traveling as a passenger in a vehicle when the car came to a stop. The woman exited the vehicle and began to dance in the street. She became partially tangled in the seat belt while outside the car. The driver of the vehicle began to move forward, dragging the trapped woman underneath the car. The car continued for a short distance before coming to a stop.
Paramedics transported the injured woman to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. No one else was hurt as a result of the crash. The driver remained on the scene and cooperated with investigating officers. There is no word on charges at this time.
Police are still looking into the crash. No further information is available.
