Raleigh, NC (August 15, 2022) – A woman was killed in a hit-and-run accident in Raleigh on Sunday, August 14th. The accident happened around 7:15 a.m. in the 4400 block of Capital Boulevard.
The Raleigh Police Department responded to the scene. According to officials, Dianna Marie Bass was standing on the shoulder of the roadway when she was hit by a passing car. Investigators believe that the vehicle drifted off the road and onto the shoulder, where it struck Bass. The victim died at the scene of the crash. After the accident, the driver fled the area before the police could arrive.
Following an investigation, officers arrested and charged 21-year-old Caleb Ethan Pressley in connection with the accident. Pressley was charged with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle. There is no word on whether any other charges are expected.
An investigation is ongoing at this time. No further information has been released.
