Fatal Accidents in North Carolina
Each year in North Carolina, more than 250,000 car accidents are reported on the streets and highways of our state. A North Carolina car accident can cause life-threatening injuries and can lead to death in the worst-case scenario. Sadly, fatal accidents take place each day in our state. In many of these accidents, innocent victims are killed when they come into contact with a negligent driver.
Following a car accident in North Carolina, police must undertake a careful investigation of the crash scene. This will result in an accident report being created. The report will determine who was responsible for causing the accident and which party can be held legally responsible for their actions. Under North Carolina law, a negligent driver is liable to all injured victims for the damages caused in the accident. This can mean pain and suffering, medical bills, lost wages, and potentially more. These claims are complicated, however, and should never be handled without receiving the benefit of trusted counsel.
