Rockingham County, NC (June 23, 2020) – One man was killed and four people suffered injuries in a head-on crash in Rockingham County on Monday, June 22nd. The crash was reported just before 10:00 p.m. in the eastbound lanes of N.C 87.
According to the State Highway Patrol, 27-year-old Terrell O’Neil Bellamy was traveling westbound on N.C. 87 near Mizpah Church Road. For unknown reasons, Bellamy crossed the center line and entered the eastbound lane of the roadway. His car collided head-on with a vehicle driven by Minera Isabel Zuniga Garcia.
Bellamy was airlifted by medical helicopter to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. Garcia and three passengers were taken to a hospital with injuries that ranged from serious to minor. There is no further information on the cause of the crash.
