Truck Accidents in North Carolina
North Carolina has many major highways that run throughout our state. It is common to see commercial trucks travel up and down these highways each day, delivering food and supplies to various destinations. While trucks play a very important role in maintaining our survival, a North Carolina truck accident can have devastating and life-altering consequences. Each year, thousands of accidents involving tractor-trailers and semi-trucks are reported across our state, many of them resulting in very serious injuries.
A truck accident in North Carolina is often more severe than a crash involving a smaller vehicle. A commercial truck is an extremely large and powerful vehicle, capable of causing a crash with a tremendous amount of force and impact. These crashes can cause serious injuries including broken bones, head trauma, paralysis, and even death. The effects of a truck accident often linger for many years and can be permanent depending on the specific types of injuries sustained.
Truck accident cases are very complicated for a number of reasons. Many trucking companies will attempt to deny or minimize their liability for an accident. Truck drivers carry commercial insurance policies, often worth millions of dollars and the company understands their potential exposure in a lawsuit. The trucking company has a financial incentive to try to place blame for the accident on the driver of the other vehicle. Proving that the truck driver was at fault requires a skilled and experienced lawyer working for you.
