Surry County, NC (May 26, 2021) – Authorities in Surry County responded to the scene of a deadly crash on Wednesday, May 26th. The collision was first reported just before 9:00 p.m. on Beulah Road on a bridge over the northbound lanes of I-77.
According to Surry County Emergency Services spokesperson David Speight, the head-on accident involved two vehicles. A total of three adults suffered injuries in the crash. One of the victims was pronounced dead a short time after the collision. The two other victims were taken to a local hospital for treatment of undisclosed injuries. There is no word on what caused the accident to occur. The North Carolina State Highway Patrol is currently conducting an investigation into the collision and it is not clear if charges are expected to be filed. Motorists were advised to use caution when traveling near the accident scene.
