Thomasville, NC (December 29, 2021) – A pedestrian suffered serious injuries in a hit-and-run crash that took place over the weekend in Thomasville. The accident occurred on Saturday, December 25th around 6:00 p.m.
The North Carolina State Highway Patrol responded to the crash scene. According to a report from troopers, a 23-year-old pedestrian was walking southbound on North Carolina 109. The pedestrian was on the shoulder looking for his wallet when he was hit by a car. The driver stopped shortly after the accident, went back to the scene, and then got into his car and left. He later returned to the area and cooperated with the police.
The pedestrian was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of serious injuries. There is no word on his condition at this time and his identity has not been released. Troopers are still investigating the accident and there is no word on charges at this time.
