Wake Forest, NC (September 9, 2021) – Police in Wake Forest charged a teenage driver following a three-car crash that left one person dead on Monday. The accident took place around 5:00 p.m. on Jones Dairy Road near the intersection with Chalk Road.
According to reports, the teen was operating a Ford F150 northwest on Jones Dairy when he came to a red light. The teen ran the light and entered the intersection. Upon entering the intersection, the F150 collided with a Cadillac STS. The Cadillac then hit a Honda CRV, causing it to overturn.
The drivers of all three vehicles were transported to local hospitals. The Cadillac driver, 79-year-old Roberta Stahl, of Wake Forest, later succumbed to her injuries. Following an investigation, the pickup driver was charged with misdemeanor death by vehicle.
The driver of the pickup, Elijah James McDaniels, of Wake Forest, was charged with misdemeanor death by vehicle. At this time, it is not believed that either speed or alcohol played a role in the crash.
An investigation is ongoing. There is no additional information available.
