Wake Forest, NC (May 3, 2022) – Police in Wake Forest were at the scene of a car accident with serious injuries on early Monday morning, May 2nd. The crash occurred around 12:45 a.m. on North Carolina Highway 98 near the intersection with Winding Way.
According to a report from the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, a vehicle was traveling on Highway 98 when, for unknown reasons, the driver lost control. The car veered off the roadway and flipped several times before coming to rest on the shoulder. The male driver was thrown from the car following the accident. He was treated at the scene and then rushed to a local hospital in critical condition. A female passenger in the car was transported for treatment of serious injuries. The identities of the victims have not been released at this time. Troopers have not released any additional details on the cause of the accident at this time.
The road was shut down for several hours while the accident was investigated. Officials have not provided any further information.
