Wayne County, NC (June 25, 2020) – Three people sustained injuries in a car accident in Wayne County on Monday, June 22nd. The accident occurred in the 1000 block of Old Grantham Road.
According to reports from the scene, the crash involved a silver-colored vehicle and a gold-colored vehicle. There is no word on how the accident took place. When rescue workers arrived, they found two occupants of the gold car and one occupant of the silver car trapped inside their vehicles. After the occupants were extricated, they were taken to local hospitals. One of the injured victims was airlifted to Mount Olive Hospital and all were believed to have serious injuries resulting from the crash.
The State Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. Charges are pending the outcome of the investigation. No one involved in the crash has been identified and no additional details are available.
