Wilmington, NC (February 11, 2021) – A woman from Fayetteville was injured in a two-vehicle crash on College Road. The accident took place on Monday, February 8th at approximately 8:00 p.m.
Officer K.M. Getman with the Wilmington Police Department responded to the scene on College Road at the intersection with Cedar Avenue. According to a report, Hope Elizabeth Bernier, of Chapel Hill, was driving a 2010 Nissan on College Road when she attempted to make a left turn onto Cedar Avenue. As she turned, Bernier failed to yield the right of way to an oncoming motorcycle driven by Bernice Clayton. The two vehicles collided with one another at the intersection.
EMS responded and transported Clayton to a hospital with unknown injuries. Following an investigation, Officer Getman charged Bernier with an unsafe movement violation.
