Wilmington, NC (January 27, 2021) – A pedestrian was killed in a crash that took place in Wilmington on Wednesday, January 27th. The accident happened just before 7:00 a.m. on Shipyard Boulevard.
The Wilmington Police and Wilmington Fire Departments responded to the crash scene just after the incident occurred. According to a report, the victim was crossing the road and was near the center lane when he was hit by a truck. Police have not released his identity, but have identified him as a 50-year-old. The man died at the accident scene. The truck driver was not injured in the crash and has also not been identified.
The WPD Traffic Unit is investigating the accident. No charges have been filed against the driver at this time. There is no additional information available.
