Winston-Salem, NC (March 19, 2021) – A man from Colfax was taken to the hospital following a two-car crash in Winston-Salem. The collision happened on Wednesday, March 17th around 5:45 p.m.
Officers with the Winston-Salem Police Department responded to the scene at the intersection of N. Patterson Avenue and Park Plaza Drive. According to officers, Alexander Popp came to a stop sign and attempted to make a left turn onto Patterson. As he turned, Popp’s vehicle collided with a vehicle driven by Donald Gene Lee, Jr., of Winston-Salem. Popp was injured in the accident and was taken to Forsyth Medical Center with undisclosed injuries as a result of the accident. Lee was not hurt.
Officials are still in the process of conducting an investigation at this time. There is no word on potential charges stemming from the accident. No further information is available.
