Winston-Salem, NC (November 1, 2021) – A 38-year-old Winston-Salem woman was killed in a pedestrian accident that took place over the weekend. The crash happened just before 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 30th along Peters Creek Parkway near Academy Street.
According to a report from the Winston-Salem Police Department, a 30-year-old Winston-Salem man was driving a BMW 328i northbound on Peters Creek. At the same time, Crystal Renee Bennett was attempting to cross the road. The man struck Bennett with his vehicle as she stepped into the travel lanes. EMS workers arrived at the scene and pronounced Bennett dead as a result of her injuries. The BMW driver remained at the scene and assisted with the investigation.
Police are still looking into the crash at this time. There is no word on whether any charges are expected to be filed.
