North Carolina Car Accidents
A car accident can result in injuries that can change your life forever. Each day, hundreds of accidents occur across our state in small towns and big cities. Regardless of where you are located, a North Carolina car accident can happen in an instant, especially given the prevalence of negligent drivers on the roadways. According to the most recent statistics, more than 280,000 crashes were reported in our state in 2019, a number which had increased more than 5,000 from the year before. In addition, approximately 80,000 people sustained injuries of some description as a result of these crashes.
Following a car accident in North Carolina, it is important not to delay in seeking medical treatment and in contacting an experienced attorney who can help handle your case. It is important to remember that many car accident injuries do not manifest themselves right away. Once the shock and adrenaline from the accident begin to wear off, many victims suddenly find themselves in pain. As the days go by, their injuries continue to worsen before they finally seek medical treatment. This has the effect of delaying your recovery and it can also hurt your case as many insurance adjusters believe you were not injured by the crash if you delay in obtaining treatment.
After you have arranged for treatment, you should speak with a car accident attorney who can make sure that your rights are protected. Before you call the insurance adjuster, it is best to have a full understanding of your legal rights. At Burton Law Firm, our car accident attorneys in Raleigh know what it takes to get the job done.
