Winston-Salem, NC (March 12, 2021) – A woman from Winston-Salem suffered injuries in a two-car accident that took place on Thursday, March 11th. The crash happened on North Liberty Street at the intersection with Fairchild Road.
Officer TM Vasquez of the WSPD was among the first officials at the scene. According to a report from Officer Vasquez, Terrence Alvin Boyd, of Winston-Salem, was driving a 2002 Chevrolet northbound on Liberty Street. At the same time, Nedila Stanley was operating a 2018 Nissan northbound on Liberty. Stanley slowed her vehicle as she attempted to make a left turn onto Fairchild Road. Boyd failed to slow down and slammed into the back of Stanley’s vehicle. Both cars sustained heavy damage as a result of the collision.
Stanley was taken by ambulance to Baptist Hospital for treatment of undisclosed injuries. Boyd was also injured. Following an investigation, Boyd was charged with failing to reduce his speed to avoid a crash.
No further information has been released at this time.
Our thoughts and well-wishes go out to Nedila Stanley following this car accident in Winston-Salem.
Car Accidents in North Carolina
A car accident in North Carolina can be a life-changing event for victims and their families. Last year in our state, there were over 125,000 people injured in reported traffic accidents. This represents a little less than 50% of all total reported crashes. Therefore, if you are involved in an accident in North Carolina, there is about a 1 in 2 chance that you will suffer some type of injury. While some people are fortunate and suffer only relatively minor injuries, other crash victims will be seriously hurt and can be affected for weeks and months by the injuries that they sustain in the crash.
Following a car accident in North Carolina, it is important to seek treatment as soon as possible. This allows you to ensure that your injuries will heal as quickly as they can. Delaying treatment can result in injuries worsening which will then require even more medical care and also a longer recovery period. You should not delay in seeing a doctor immediately after the accident.
Once you have established a medical plan, your next phone call should be to a skilled and trusted North Carolina car accident attorney that can help you protect your legal rights. Almost all car accidents in North Carolina are caused by negligent drivers. These drivers will speed, drive recklessly, and not pay attention to the roadway. Their careless actions can lead to a tremendous amount of pain and suffering for innocent victims. Your attorney can help make sure that your rights are protected and that the appropriate person is held responsible for your damages.
